GATHER COMMUNITY GUIDE
Help & Posting Guide
Gather is a place to share ideas, everyday moments, creative work, and conversations. This guide explains how the main features work and how to make your contributions useful to other people.
1. Create a useful post
Choose one main idea and give readers enough context to understand it. A question is easier to answer when you explain what you have tried or what kind of perspective would help. If you share a photo or video, add a caption when context is important.
- Use your own words and share experiences or ideas you have permission to publish.
- Keep the title or opening sentence specific rather than misleading.
- Check names, dates, and claims before presenting them as facts.
- Do not publish another person's private information without permission.
2. Continue a conversation
Replies, likes, and follows help members find conversations and people they want to hear from. Respond to the point being discussed, disagree respectfully, and avoid posting the same message repeatedly. A thoughtful reply can add an example, ask a clear question, or explain a different view.
3. Manage your profile and saved posts
Your profile helps other members understand who is contributing. Keep your bio accurate and avoid including information you would not want to share publicly. Use bookmarks to return to posts later, drafts to keep unfinished writing, and account settings to manage the profile options available to you.
Public profiles and posts may be visible to people who are not signed in. Do not assume that anything posted publicly is private. Read the Privacy Policy for more information.
4. Understand Explore News
Explore includes automatic headline links and separately published Gather editorial stories. Automatic headlines are discovery links to other publishers, not full articles written by Gather. Open the original publisher for complete reporting and the latest updates.
Gather editorial stories should add original explanation or context, identify their sources, and distinguish confirmed facts from uncertainty. Read our Editorial Standards. To request a correction, send the story URL, identify the specific statement, and include reliable supporting information through the Contact page.
5. Keep the community safe and respectful
Do not use Gather to harass people, threaten others, impersonate someone, spam the community, or share content you do not have rights to publish. If you see a concern, contact Gather with the page URL and a concise description. Do not send passwords or sign-in codes when asking for help.
Read the full Community Guidelines and Terms of Use before participating.
6. Account and privacy support
For account access, privacy requests, or content concerns, visit Contact Gather. Include the relevant page URL and only the information needed to explain your request. Never email a password or verification code.
What this guide cannot promise
Features can change as the service develops. This guide explains the intended use of the current Gather features; it is not a promise that every post, account, or external news link will always be available or accurate. Use the original source for time-sensitive reporting and contact Gather when you spot a problem.
